Our Teams

… About Our SYNCHRO Family:

The Richmond Synchro program is beginning its 16th season with the 2016-2017 competitive year. The program was founded in 2001, beginning with just one team. In 2003, a second team of younger skaters were added, and the program has continued to grow to include several Beginner divisions, 6.0 and IJS Levels, Open Adult and Open Collegiate. Richmond Synchro strives to offer a team for skaters of all levels and ages. Some skate with us purely for the recreational fun and fitness while others strive for a highly competitive track. Bets are on that you will find a fit for your style of skating and make a lot of friends along the way. We like to think of the synchro program as a great big family, where the team is just as important as the individual. Our parents and coaching staff work together with a core group of volunteers on a board of directors to try and offer fun and competitive events for everyone who loves the sport.

Where Do We Skate?

skate nationWe skate at two Richmond-area ice rinks. Our primary facility is SkateNation Plus in Glen Allen on the northwest side of Richmond. Located in the heart of Shortpump, a hub of shopping and entertainment, it sits right next to the Shortpump Towne Center mall and the Shortpump Regal Cinemas. Off of Broad Street, pull in to the Barnes & Noble entrance and go straight back. With access to Route 288 just a few miles west on Broad Street, the rink is a quick 20 minute drive to its sister rink, Richmond Ice Zone. Click for Map and Directions to SkateNation Plus

We also practice at the Richmond Ice Zone located conveniently off of Midlothian Turnpike just across from Johnston-Willis Hospital. From downtown to either rink is just 15 minutes. With skaters from the entire Richmond area, we practice and perform at both area rinks whenever possible and consider both welcoming facilities where we can polish our craft.
